Repetition

You can’t experience it twice—not really. It will never be exactly the same. You can try to capture the moment, a detail, her reflection in the lake.

But the sun will always catch her eye at a different angle. The air will always be a little warmer. Her nails will always be a deeper shade of red.

It’s familiar, but forever different the second time around. You lose her in a million moments and spend a lifetime finding her in the details.

Blink, and it’s gone forever. She will teach you not to bottle the ocean, but to drown in the shallows. You cannot waste a moment by trying to capture it—repetition is fool’s gold.
